Top Performing Members of Youth Parliament qualify for 5th Session

Islamabad, June 05: Top performing Members of Youth Parliament were selected for participation in the fifth and final session of the 8th Youth Parliament after conclusion of the first session today. The members were evaluated through a merit-based, transparent and multi-level evaluation process that covered various aspects of their performance over the course of the five-day session. Certificates were distributed by Ms. Nafeesa Inayatullah Khan Khattak, MNA, PTI. The top fifteen selected MYPs from session 1 include the following:

Earlier in the day, five Youth Standing Committees presented their final policy recommendations on their assigned topics to a review panel comprising senior Parliamentarians. Senator Farhatullah Babar, Mr. Awais Ahmed Leghari, MNA Chairperson National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Mr. Omar Ayub Khan, Former Minister for State for Finance while giving feedback on the prepared reports, appreciated the effort of the Committees. The Youth Standing Committee on the Right to Information was able to score the highest based on their plans for raising awareness for the using the Right to Information by including it in the curriculums for schools and colleges. Youth Standing Committee on National Security and Foreign Affairs, Youth Standing Committee on Finance, Youth Standing Committee Political and Electoral System and the Youth Standing Committee on Performance of Local Governments also presented reports.
